On Knowledge

This is an exploratory article I.e. it will take a long time before I understand what I mean.

  • Knowledge must be explored to be understood. Case in point is this article. I don’t know the full extent of the consequences but over time time a clear structure will emerge.
  • The different versions between knowledge and information is understanding. One may know without understanding and if one is informed they understand. This is in sharp contrast to the conventional uses of the words. Hence we should not refer to information technology but to knowledge technology because data is a form of knowledge.
  • I am aware of at least four forms of knowledge that I will refer to as epi-knowledge, meta-knowledge, core-knowledge and co-knowledge. I’ll explain these in turn.
