• is pessimistic
• is a zero-sum game

Cooperation

• makes for a bigger pie - better a smaller piece of a bigger pie than a big piece of a small pie
• we already collaborate eg same date, time etc - W. Edwards Deming
• is optimistic
• puts the consumer at the heart of production rather than profits
